Bradford - Targeting the Needs of the Local AreaBradford Early Years and Childcare Services wanted to gain a better understanding of parents (and carers) attitudes towards the usage of childcare. They were also keen to understand the views and behaviour of parents generally and of particular groups of parents, i.e. low income, in the transition from unemployment to employment, with children who have a disability and ethnic minority families. Their research enabled them to further plan and implement a childcare strategy that delivers services to all families, including the priority and excluded families
East Riding of Yorkshire - consulting local needs East Riding of Yorkshire Council undertook consultation in the local community aimed at establishing:
1) The variety of facilities already available in Goole to children aged 0 – 5 years and their parents
2) Difficulties in current service delivery
3) The services required at the new children’s centre
The research has provided East Riding of Yorkshire Council with a wealth of views and suggestions from priority and excluded families on the services they would like to see developed in the new children’s centre and the barriers with possible solutions to access those services.
